The Ivan Savvidis Charitable Foundation offers one scholarship for the Master of Arts in Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Studies provided by the International Hellenic University.
Priority will be given to graduates of the School of History and Archaeology of the Aristotle University who have attended the courses of the Chair of Pontic Studies. However, graduates of other Departments and fields of Humanities (History, History of Art, Archaeology, Social and Political Sciences, International Relations, Economy, Ethnology and Social Anthropology) are also encouraged to apply for the scholarship, provided the criteria set by International Hellenic University are met.
The scholarship will be awarded by the Ivan Savvidis Chair of Pontic Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and will give students the opportunity to acquire a postgraduate degree in the History and Culture of the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean.
The Ivan Savvidis Chair of Pontic Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from the very first moment of its operation, has focused on the study of the History of the Hellenism of the East, aiming not only at strengthening the undergraduate studies on the subject but also at gradually creating a group of young scientists who will become engaged at postgraduate and doctoral level with unresearched aspects of the rich history of the Greeks of the East and especially of Pontos. The Chair of Pontic Studies was founded in the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in May 2017 with the support of the Ivan Savvidis Charitable Foundation.
